JBS continues its COVID-19 support to local communities
Through our social responsibility program, “Good Deeds Do Good – Feeding the World with Solidarity”, in March JBS was proud to deliver a further 74 hospital respirators, of which 70 to the departments of health of Brazil’s three southern states: Santa Catarina (50), Paraná (10) and Rio Grande do Sul (10).
In Santa Catarina, the company has also provided 18 infusion pumps for assembling new ICU beds, while the city of Xanxerê received 128,000 personal protection equipment kits (PPEs), in addition to new funds to purchase medication used in treating patients in a critical condition. In Minas Gerais, JBS also donated 10 vital signs monitors to the municipal authorities of Uberlândia.
Brazil is currently experiencing a significant wave of Covid-19 infections and JBS recognises the need for collaborative efforts to see the country through these uncertain times. We are proud that our Good Deeds Do Good programme has already benefited 77 million Brazilians in over 310 municipalities across the country’s five regions.
JBS continues to promote its wider commitment to provide R$ 400 million in donations to combat the spread of coronavirus. This has previously included investment dedicated to improving hospital facilities in the city of Dourados in Mato Grosso do Sul, as well as significant donations of medical equipment and personal protective equipment across the country.
JBS remains both proud and steadfast in its commitments to ensure the Good Deeds Are Good programme delivers long-lasting positive outcomes for our communities. The donated medical equipment and funded projects will be repurposed after the pandemic subsides providing a legacy that will support many generations to come.
