JBS CEO Gilberto Tomazoni’s Time at COP26 and the UK Global Investment Summit
Our Global CEO, Gilberto Tomazoni was delighted to be present at the UN Climate Summit (COP26) held in Glasgow this November. Mr Tomazoni had the opportunity to speak about the role of the business sector in achieving climate neutrality and presented the initiatives JBS have adopted to reduce carbon emissions – such as the Transparent Livestock Platform.
At the event, Mr. Tomazoni said that “JBS is committed to fulfilling its Net Zero commitment by 2040…We will work together with small producers to support them in this new green revolution. In this race, there is no single winner: either everyone loses or all humanity wins. By bringing everyone together, we are confident that the company can be an agent of transformation.”
The event was, attended by world leaders such as U.S. President Joe Biden and influential figures such as Sir David Attenborough. Great progress was made in the fight against climate change, with 100 countries, including Brazil, pledging to stop deforestation and reduce methane emissions by 2030.
Mr Tomazoni was also in attendance at the Global Investment Summit held in London, England in October. The event began with a dinner hosted by the Lord Mayor of London, held at the Guildhall in the City of London, one of London’s most historic landmarks. On the day of the event, the Science Museum welcomed 180 of the world’s top investors in innovation for the Summit hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson. In his speech, Boris Johnson urged investors to fund green technologies to save the world from climate disaster.
Following a closing speech by the Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss, the delegates were taken by electric bus to a reception at Windsor Castle, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family including Prince Charles and Prince William.
